St. Anna’s Family Home, Winneba – CMF has supported this Home since the year 2012 when a family friend and I came together to form The Orphan Care Foundation. The proprietor of the Home is Ms. Emelia Turkson. She started a small school for the children in her care and has benefited from donations and sponsorships at home and abroad. Some of the children, now young adults, are in tertiary education while others have completed schooling and engaged in national service. One is in the Ghana Armed Forces and another in the Immigration Service.
During our last donation to the Home (April 6, 2024 in collaboration with Rev. Charles Andrews), she requested assistance in installing a Solar powered system so that with the rampant power outages, the children in her school can study for their exams.
Decision: CMF appealed to all philanthropists who have supported in various ways, to assist to in securing a Solar powered system for the St. Anna’s Family Home School as this was a concern put across by Ms. Emelia Turkson.
Update on the appeal by St. Anna’s Family Home
This year the 19th of April, Rev. Andrews and his friends from the USA and Ghana, put together a donation of GHS25,000 for the St. Anna’s Family Home. The group together with CMF also donated food items, clothing, shoes, school bags and canned foods to the Home.
